अंडमान और निकोबार द्वीप समूह में ग्रामीण जल आपूर्ति योजनाओं के संचालन और प्रबंधन पर पांच दिवसीय प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम

डॉ. श्यामा प्रसाद मुखर्जी राष्ट्रीय जल और स्वच्छता संस्थान (एसपीएम-एनआईडब्ल्यूएएस), पेयजल और स्वच्छता विभाग, जल शक्ति मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार अंडमान लोक निर्माण विभाग (एपीडब्ल्यूडी) के सहयोग से अंडमान और निकोबार द्वीप समूह में इंजीनियरों (जेई) और सहायक इंजीनियरों (एई) के लिए ग्रामीण जल आपूर्ति योजनाओं के संचालन और प्रबंधन पर पांच दिवसीय आवासीय प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम का आयोजन कर रहा है।

ख़राब संचालन और रखरखाव (ओ एंड एम) प्रथाओं के कारण सामना की जाने वाली चुनौतियों को पहचानते हुए, पाठ्यक्रम इंजीनियरों को आवश्यक कौशल और ज्ञान से लैस करने पर केंद्रित है ताकि सिस्टम अक्षमता, ग़ैर-राजस्व जल (एनआरडब्ल्यू), ऊर्जा खपत और अपर्याप्त सामुदायिक जुड़ाव जैसे महत्वपूर्ण मुद्दों को हल किया जा सके।

यह प्रशिक्षण मॉड्यूल अन्य सभी राज्यों/केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों में चरणबद्ध तरीक़े से आयोजित किया जाएगा। श्री चंद्र भूषण कुमार, आईएएस, मुख्य सचिव, एंडमैन और निकोबार द्वीप समूह ने मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में उद्घाटन सत्र में भाग लिया।

सभा को संबोधित करते हुए मुख्य सचिव ने जल आपूर्ति योजनाओं की स्थिरता सुनिश्चित करने के लिए फील्ड इंजीनियरों के प्रशिक्षण और क्षमता निर्माण के महत्व पर ज़ोर दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि आपूर्ति प्रबंधन पर बहुत काम किया गया है और अब मांग पक्ष प्रबंधन पर काम करना आवश्यक है।

The objective of the training course is to enhance the operational and managerial capacities of Junior Engineers (JEs) and Assistant Engineers (AEs) of the Andaman & Nicobar administration in managing water supply schemes effectively. The contents of this training  programme  are  designed by a team of experts from SPM NIWAS as per the requirements of the Andaman & Nicobar islands in discussion with the APWD officials covering the following topics:-

• Water Supply Systems and Challenges in Andaman & Nicobar Island.
• Safe Drinking Water: BIS Standards and Sample Collection Frequency.
• Operation and Maintenance of Surface Water-Based Schemes in Andaman & Nicobar, Spring Source, Sand filters, pressure filters and various components
• Distribution management and maintenance.
•    Practical Strategies for Reducing Water loss/ Non-Revenue Water (NRW) in Andaman & Nicobar.
• Citizen Service Delivery and grievance redressal and community engagement in water management.
•    Financial Planning of Operation and management of Rural Water supply.
